The City Club of Cleveland

Interior Renovation

Cleveland, OH

Established in 1912, the City Club of Cleveland is America’s longest uninterrupted public speaking forum. Properties of openness and transparency were integrated into the design in response to the client’s desire that the City Club express the concept of free speech. The main auditorium is entered through a gallery area designed to encourage interactivity and discussion, and to exhibit portraits of famous speakers. The finishes include contemporary colors and materials in a warm palette. The restored 1942 mural by the prominent Cleveland artist, Elmer Brown, is featured in the auditorium.
