Foundation Hall: Clasen Family Welcome Center

The renovation of Foundation Hall, to expand its bookstore and create new space for admissions, financial aid, career services, and conferences, provided a welcome opportunity to create a focal point to greet pedestrians arriving at the Firelands College campus. Precast concrete panels on the building’s exterior relate to the existing built context of the campus while new expanses of glass distinguish the addition from its surroundings. Interior materials include terrazzo floors and abundant glazing to reinforce and continue the transparency of the exterior envelope.
