Rhodes Tower Restacking Study
and Michael Schwartz Library

Cleveland, OH

The examination of Rhodes Tower’s restacking divided into two simultaneous paths. One path focused on the assessment of the physical condition of Rhodes Tower, and a second path focused on developing the phased restacking plan, which included enhancements to the campus library.

The Restacking Study examined floors 9 though 19 of Rhodes Tower to consolidate departments within Rhodes once the College of Education moves into their new facility.

The Library Planning Concepts Study examined library planning on floors 1 through 8, as well as ideas for a new exterior design for the 4-level base of Rhodes Tower that will enhance the identity of the library. The study also discussed ideas for a significant new entrance on Chester Avenue to Rhodes Tower and the University beyond.
