About
Robert Bostwick AIA
President & Director of Design
There have been perhaps a dozen memorable moments in my life when buildings have spoken to me in a way that nothing else has. I want to create that experience for others.
Any building or space has that possibility. Architecture becomes art, able to speak across time and distance to engage others in a dialogue. Buildings serve many needs, but if you add to that a moment of insight—the feeling of space, the quality of light—a building is elevated to something much more than a functional solution.
I am bound to the relentless pursuit of design—composition, proportion, aesthetics. I find it deeply satisfying when tension and disharmony dissolve into resolution that goes beyond function. Deeper meaning is revealed, an intangible 4th dimension of design is discovered.
At times I feel lost in the process, unsettled, at an impasse. By bearing down and staying open, I find design reveals itself and solutions arise.
